The Mega Man Series

The Mega Man games for the NES had this incredibly likeable quality. In essence, it is just your basic run and jump platform shooter, only in space. But the games had such great graphics for its time. While they may be very cartoonish and childlike, the characters and the settings were so detailed that you played the game with a big smile on your face.

There was nothing revolutionary about the gameplay. You go through levels and you try beat the boss at the end. It just goes to show how much value the "tone" of a game has.

There were a total of 6 Mega Man games to come out for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The original Mega Man game, which came out in 1987 is by far the most difficult. It is also considered by many to be the most difficult NES game to ever come out.

For many the real peak of the series was Mega Man 2, 3, & 4. The games still hold up even after so many years since its release.
